M.Uma Maheswari, L.Rajendran*
The boundary value problemin basic enzyme reactions is formulated and approximate expressions for mediator and substrate concentration are presented. This investigation contains a non-linear termrelated toMichaelis- Menten kinetics. In this paper, we obtain the approximate analytical solutions for the non-linear reaction diffusion equations that describe the diffusion and the reaction within a uniform film containing immobilized enzyme and mediator at an electrode surface. Analytical expression pertaining to the mediator and substrate concentration profiles and current response were reported for all possible values of dimensionless parameter ï«, ï§, ï¨ and ïÂÂ. An approximate expression of flux is also derived. The obtained concentration results are compared with the numerical solution acquired using Scilab program and found to be in satisfactory agreement.
