Comparative evaluation of caffeine extraction in waste tea as a potential low-cost source relative to dry tea in different solvents

In this study, waste tea andfresh teawere extracted with different solvents andemploying different extraction conditions in order toobtain maximum amounts of extracted caffeine. The lowest extraction yields, for both fresh and waste tea were obtained with water and highest extraction yield of caffeine was achieved with chloroform.
