Genetic variability in the genome is pre requisite for crop improvement and measures of genetic relatedness are very important in plant breeding-related activities. Present work deals with the study of genetic diversity of a variety of finger millet genotypes collected from different taluks of Haveri district .In this evaluation of 10 finger millet genotypes was carried out for variability of genotypes at molecular level using ten RAPD primers (UGEP1F, UGEP3F, UGEP5F, UGEP6F, UGEP8F, UGEP10F, UGEP18F, UGEP18F, UGEP15F, UGEP12F, and UGEP11F). UGEP5F, UGEP10F, UGEP15F, UGEP12F, and UGEP11F have shown highest polymorphism and percentage of polymorphism is 100 as all the levels have shown polymorphic bands, whereas UGEP8F is the only primer which has shown 50% monomorphism and 50% polymorphism. Cluster analysis is used to find out linkage distance between various genotypes and hence the genetic diversity which exist among them. The dendrogram of 10 genotypes was constructed based on RAPD data. Genotypes were grouped into two clusters at 43% dissimilarity.
