Fe3O4magnetic nanoparticleswere synthesized via chemical precipitationmethod and used as anefficient andrecyclablecatalyst inultrasound-assisted sp3C-Hfunctionalization of 2-methylpyridines.Good yields of 3-substituted-3-hydroxyindolin-2-oneswere obtained via reaction of 2-methylpyridines and isatins undermildconditions.The catalyst, retainedactivityfor five runs.
