Low energy electron scattering by cometary molecules.

In this work we present theoretical study on electron collision with cometarymolecules in the lowenergy rang. The rotational excitationmomentumtransfer cross sections are calculated for electron collisionwith cometarymolecules like SO,CH,OH,CO,NO, SiO,H2O,HCN,H2S, SO2,OCS,H2CO,HC3N,C2H2,CH3OH,CH3CHO,CH3CN,NH2CHO, HCOOHandHOOCH3 in the energy range (0.5-16.5 eV.) TheBornEikonal SeriesApproximationmethod and the hard sphere dipole interaction potential model are employed in the present investigation. The results obtained are compared with available data and to examine the effect of dipole moment on the momentum transfer cross section (MTCS) for lowenergy electron collision.
