NaHSO4 supported on silica: An alternative and efficient catalyst for green synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols under ultrasound irradiation

An efficient and environment-friendly approach for the synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols via multicomponent one-pot reaction of â-naphthol, aldehyde and urea/amide is herein described employing neat reaction conditions under ultrasound irradiations using SiO2-NaHSO4 as inexpensive solid catalyst. The present approach offers several advantages such as short reaction times, higher yields, eco-friendly reaction condition, easy purification and availability of the catalyst.
