Nano-enhanced green technologies–An overview

Green technology is the application of the environmental science to conserve the natural environment and resources, and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement. Sustainable development is the core of Green technologies. The basic application towards the concept of Green Technology include recycling, water purification, air purification, sewage treatment, environmental remediation, solid waste management, sensors and renewable energy. Green Nanotechnology represents wide spectrum of technologies and they all directly or indirectly improve the environment. Green nanotechnology is about making green nano-products and using nano-products in support of sustainability. Green Nano is involved in numerous renewable energy areas such as nanoscale devices for higher efficiency solar energy and photonics applications. Nano-enhanced energy technologies applications include metal hydrides in combination with nanoporous scaffolds for storing hydrogen. Nano-enhanced green industry technologies applications include silica nanoparticles in catalyst systems to synthesize biodiesel. Nano-enhanced green food packaging and pesticide reduction for crops have been reported
