Removal Of Vanillic Acid By Boron Doped Diamond Anodic Oxidation
Bensalah Nasr, Gadri Abdellatif
A voltammetric study of the electrochemical oxidation of vanillic acid (3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzoic acid) by anodic oxidation was combined with results of galvanostatic electrolyses in order to produce total degradation into CO2 and H2O at boron-doped diamond anode. The voltammetric results showed that vanillic acid is oxidized in the potential region where the supporting electrolyte is stable. Here we show also that an acidic aqueous solution of vanillic acid can be completely mineralized by galvanostatic electrolysis in single-compartment electrochemical flow cell with boron doped diamond anodes under different current densities.
