Sleep and Wakefulness Neurophysiology: A Behavioural Neuroscience-Related Model for the Sleep-Wake 2D NREM-REM Alternation System Cycle

In this study, we try to give fundamentals to neurophysiologic patterns of a two-phase model of the sleep-wake cycle through implementation of a closed-loop biological system. Some biological assumption are taken into account, mainly different neuron groups different discharge profiles, firing rates and inhibit sleep-promoting behaviors during NREM and REM sleep.
