Studies on the interaction between garcigerin and DNA by spectroscopic method

The interaction of 12b-hydroxy-des-D-Garcigerin (GA)withDNAwas studied by using acridine orange (AO) as a probe. The results indicated that there was a complex ofGA and DNA, which has been confirmed by absorption and fluorescence spectra. The influence of salt effect and temperature on the interaction of GA with DNA was studied. The results suggested that the intercalation and electrostatic binding should be the two major modes for interaction between GA and DNA.
