Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Some New Sydnonimine Hydrochloride Derivatives

To explore new therapeutic agents, we have reported the preparation and biological activity of some newly synthesized sydnonimine hydrochloride. m-Phenoxy benzaldehyde cyanohydrin was condensed with different amines leading to formation of (±)--amino nitrile. The product was treated with nitrous acid and ethanolic hydrochloric acid to get cyclic sydnonimine hydrochloride. IR spectra and elemental analysis supported the constitution of the product. The products were tested for antibacterial, antifungal and insecticidal activity.
