Thermodynamic activity and diffusion coefficient of liquid AlMg alloys: Complex formation model

We have used the complex formation model suggested by Bhatia and Hargrove to study the thermodynamic activity and diffusion coefficient of liquid AlMg alloys. The study of the concentration dependence of the thermodynamic activity throws light on their alloying behaviour. Further, it can be visualized from the study how far the alloys follow Raoultian behaviour and obey HenryÂ’s law. Useful informations have been obtained regarding the glass forming nature of the alloys at 1073 K.
